Personal Introduction

Educational Background He completed his PhD in Chemical Engineering at Brigham Young University in 1998. His dissertation researched simulation of NOx emissions reduction for SNCR + reburning processes in pulverized coal combustion. He received his M.S. in Chemical Engineering at the University of Idaho in 1993. His major professor was a famous member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE), Prof. Cen Kafe in Zhejiang University where he received M.S. in Energy Engineering in 1986. He published more than ten papers on SNCR, Reburning and NOx control review in various U.S. combustion engineering magazines and conferences.

Professional Experience Since joining in Fuel Tech, inc., Dr. Hank has about 10-year experience on SNCR applications in the power industry, including process design for more than 100 units, and performance testing in more than 20 units. He was one of the leading designers for eight SNCR systems in PR. China. Prior to his study in the U.S., he was an Assistant Professor in Thermal Engineering at the China Institute of Metrology in Hangzhou for five years. Hank’s first-hand experience with the power industry includes an internship at the Huaibie Power Plant and as a research assistant at the Guangzhou Boiler Manufacturing Plant in the P.R. China.
